ATM SAFETY TIPS
Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) provide added convenience to your credit union accounts. With an INOVA FCU Check Card, you can withdrawal and deposit money, check you account balance or transfer funds between accounts any time - day or night. As with any other type of financial transaction, you should keep your financial papers, identification and PIN access codes in a safe place. Here are a few tips to keep you safe when using an ATM:
1. Memorize your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
2. Never share your PIN with anyone.
3. Be aware of your surroundings when approaching and when using an ATM.
4. Wait until the person using the ATM has pulled away.
5. Cover the keypad when entering your PIN.
6. Wait until after you have left the ATM to count your money.
7. Always take the receipt with you.
8. Pull as close to the ATM as you can.
9. Make sure your doors are locked.
10. Always leave the car running while using the ATM.
Should your Check Card ever be lost or stolen, report it immediately. Once you report that the card is missing, the credit union can block transactions. This will prevent all unathorized use of your card.
