If you are under the legal age, a parental signature is required.

For the Live Wire Account you must have a VISA Check Card and fulfill all other requirements which include: a membership savings, Live Wire checking, direct deposit of at least $100 each month, home banking, E-Statements, E-Marketing, and a valid email address.

You'll love the convenience of paying for purchases directly from funds in your checking account without the time consuming task of writing checks. Use your card anywhere VISA is accepted. We encourage you to use your VISA Check Card whenever possible because every check that clears your Live Wire checking account will have a $0.50 per check clearing fee.

REWARDS! Anyone who uses their VISA Check Card for swipe and sign transactions will earn rewards points. You'll receive 1 point for every $5 you spend1.

A VISA Check Card is safe and easy to use. You'll feel more secure carrying a VISA Check Card rather than cash and you can easily conduct transactions in person, over the phone or making online purchases. You can use either the credit or debit option when making a purchase but the credit option will save money on transaction fees.

Our VISA Check Card is part of the Alliance One Network which has over 3,400 ATM locations nationwide with a Live Wire account you’ll have unlimited transactions available at these locations at no charge. We will reimburse you up to $10 per month for any foreign ATM surcharges. Cash advances against your Check Card are available at the credit union, other financial institutions, or through VISA® ATM Network worldwide.

New VISA Check Cards are reissued every 36 months. If you need to replace your card before that, you may be subject to a $10.00 fee. (No charge to replace a stolen card when a police report is obtained.)

And, once you have accumulated enough points, you can redeem your points for gift cards from some of the nation’s leading retailers, airline tickets, hotel stays or even vacation getaways.

Earning Points
You will earn one point for every $5 purchased with your INOVA FCU VISA Check Card. No points will be earned for cash advances, including convenience checks or for balance transfers. Return transactions will be subtracted from point totals. There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn with this program.* You will earn and can combine points on purchases made with multiple cards that have the same account number. Points are earned based upon signature level transactions (swipe and sign) only. No pin-based transactions are eligible for rewards. No points will be earned for Leisure Mile purchases. Your VISA Check Card Rewards Account must remain open and in good standing, otherwise any available points will be forfeited.

Points earned in this program cannot be exchanged for cash or discounts on financial services, cannot be earned from or transferred to any other charge or credit accounts, and have no value other than as provided in the INOVA Federal Credit Union VISA Check Card Rewards Program.

Tracking Points
You will receive quarterly statements of your account activity including points earned during the quarter, points deducted for redemption activity and total number of accumulated points. You may also track your points via the INOVA FCU Member Rewards website at www.memberaward.com/inova. You may also call rewards member services at 877-994-0839 Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time.

Redeeming Points
Leisure Miles may be used for the following activities:
air travel, hotel stays, car rentals or cruises. The member redeems his/her points, receives a confirmation number from the RTS redemption center or via the Rewards website, then arranges and pays for the activity using his/her INOVA FCU VISA Credit Card or Check Card. To receive Leisure Mile reimbursement, members must mail or fax a copy of their INOVA FCU VISA Credit Card statement to the RTS redemption center, showing proof of purchase and a receipt from the travel provider (airline ticket, eticket, or itinerary). Upon receipt, RTS will issue member a check for the Maximum Member Reimbursement Amount as per the Leisure Mile Awards Table or actual cost of itinerary, whichever is less. Completed gift card redemptions received at RTS will usually be ordered from the specific vendor by the next business day. Points will be deducted from the member’s account upon redemption.

Any Federal or State income tax, and any other federal, state or local taxes are the responsibility of the participant. INOVA Federal Credit Union reserves the right to change the rules and regulations of the program, conditions of participation, or benefits received, and discontinue the program at any time without notice.

*Subject to the Credit Union's right to discontinue the program, points will accrue over five calendar years and will expire on a first in, first out basis (i.e. any unredeemed points earned in calendar year one will expire as of the last business day of calendar year five). Expired points have no value.
